Dash Knob LED's not lighting up

I know I've seen a few topics over the past few months regarding the knobs not lightning up. Could someone post a link to any of those threads? I swear I've been searching for hours and can't find them again. A picture of my non illuminated knobs is below for reference. Thanks a ton

Early build 2014 1500, volume, menu, fan and temp knobs are not lit. Later 2014 1500, the volume and menu are lit, auto climate, the temp controls are not lit, and if its manual climate, the fan and temp are lit. Did they work before or did you just get the truck?

I bought the truck February 2015, but it was a dealer demo model. The sticker inside my driver door says 06/13

To add... I also think this issue only relates to Chevy... not GMC. I had a 2014 Sierra (built Aug 2013) and it worked.

Yours would be the early build referenced. Dealers were sent a bulletin to inform them not to change this as described by 15HDriver

To add... I also think this issue only relates to Chevy... not GMC. I had a 2014 Sierra (built Aug 2013) and it worked.

Wonder if i could sneak it past. My dealership is very big on customer satisfaction. They are always extremely concerned with getting high marks on the surveys they send after I bring my truck in.

Here's the thread on the original issue. My dealer fixed mine "for customer satisfaction", but my service manager let me know after they jumped through hoops, that GM would not approve the parts. They basically did me a favor because GM cut off these requests...good luck. Can't hurt to try...

"At the beginning of production for 2014, these rings were not illuminated. As a running change, these rings are now illuminated.

Explain to the customer their vehicle is operating normally. Do not attempt to repair or replace any parts to alter the original vehicle design intent. You may wish to give the customer a copy of this bulletin."
