Stalling/choking

Last night my truck stalled on me. I couldn't get it to start and jumping didn't work. The battery was completely dead (8 year old battery). Replaced it with a new one and now it starts but stalls within seconds. Anything I can try before towing it to repair shop? This is a 02 Silverado 1500 with about 100k miles. I can make a video later if that helps.

Could it be my alternator? Would a bad alternator cause it to start and stall after just installing a new battery? Also was reading somewhere it could be the throttle body timing is now off since the battery was disconnected. There's a guide to relearn it but truck doesn't idle long enough to do anything. Here's the guide I found. http://repairpal.com/engine-stalling-after-battery-replacement

Well I'd try the simple things first. Check your throttle body to see if it's gummed up or dirty. My '03 1500 HD did the same thing, it kept stalling right after i'd start it up. Turned out it was just a dirty throttle body. Next I'd check the fuel pressure and/or see if the fuel pressure regulator is possibly leaking or the vacuum line to it. Other things that come to mind are: Idle air control valve, clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump relay...? I am assuming no cel?
