2" level or 2.5"?

Anything remotely noise high looks god awful to me. maybe I'm getting old.. each new truck I buy gets lower and lower.

"2" level with lt275/60r20 bfgoodrich all terrain KO2's" Slight rub at full lock"

Remember, the Z71 trucks are different. I have the same tires, and size... My Z71 stock would just barley rub with these tires. I pulled back the carpet liners and it fixed that. This was before I went and got a 1.5in level later.

I also believe the double cab Z71 trucks have the most rake out of any GM trucks. Mine was 3.5in of rake from the factory.

Only thing different on a Z71 are the crap rancho shocks, if we're only talking suspension here. And my truck is a high Country so it doesn't have the Z71 package (it isn't even available for the Denali or HC trims)

right.. I was making the point that the Z71 is different in regards to the factory rake... especially the double cab trucks. I'm not talking about shocks, etc..

Ride height is no different on trucks with Z71 packages.

I always have had the worse luck with level and lift kits on my trucks, requiring more height for the same result as others lol but yes I get a slight rub (haven't checked where yet) at full lock

Hers is a 2WD so has less crap upfront

I installed the RC 2 inch front kit and it seemed to high in front or too low in back, so I got the rear RC block from the 2 1/2 level kit. Now it sits with just a bit of rake. Perfect for me. I also have 275/60-20 Hankook Dynapro RF10s and no rub.

The thing that bothers me is looking nose high. I REALLY dont want that look, so I am considering 1.75-2" of lift (suspensionmaxx adjustable kit).

One thing I was thinking about, everyone likes to measure from the ground to the fender to get exactly level to the ground; however, sometimes you still have more gap in the wheelwell in front than rear. Anyone ever use the strategy of measuring from the top of the tires to the fender? I just think the gap in the wheelwell gives away more of a nose high look than actually being level (or slightly too high).

I beg to differ. Every 2015 Z71 model I looked at, CCSB, the rake was more. I just got a 2015 Chevy CCSB and there was 3 1/8" difference from front the rear. I started with just the 2" lower strut level and wasn't happy with how much rake it left me. So, I added the 1/2" to the top to bring it up a bit and I'm still left with the rear sitting 5/8" higher, which I can live with.

All other things constant, the "Z71" doesn't change the leaf springs in the rear or the springs in the front; only the shocks. The springs determine the ride height, and the springs are all the same, unless you have a max tow, Z60, etc. package. It's been well observed that ride height differs from truck to truck, and even from driver to passenger side on the same truck.

Hi guys, I guess i have a question on preference on this subject. I've just bought a 2015 silverado CCSB and i'm wanting to level it. I am going to go with a rough country kit, but i'm hung up on either the 2" kit or the 2.5" kit. I guess i'm looking for everyone's opinion on it and maybe some pictures of your trucks. Any help would be great!

EDIT: Yes, i have browsed the level kit sticky. I'm just asking for preference and/or more pictures to help sway my decision. Is there any concern with the cv angles?

2.5 leveler it gets it higher and looks better with the bed

Here's a better picture without a trailer. Still a bit of rake but fine for me since I always tow or have crap in the bed

Wow this thread really blew up! Thanks for everyone's replies!! I think I'm going to just go with the 2" kit as I feel the 2.5" will put a little too much angle on the CV's. Everyone's truck looks great!!

I think the 2.5 will be fine. I mean a ton of people run that kit and there hasnt been a lotnof issues for the amount of people that have it.

I did the 2" because it was free with the purchase of tires at the tire shop.
