K & N Blackhawk intake on a 2009 GMC Sierra

Hope the information from here helps give you an idea...in addition, even though your Mass Air Flow sensor reads how much air is coming in, that the computer is programmed for the stock intake system and a recalibration with a custom tune will further enhance the performance benefits to an aftermarket intake system. That system looks good, good luck.

Do these work as well as advertized

Well, if you mean "as advertized' to mean that it knocks 2 seconds off your ET and makes your truck pull like a big-block Corvette? Then no.

As you can see from the link in the above post, you're going to be spending a few hundred dollars for a power increase of (at best) 8-9 hp. You won't feel or notice a thing. It will likely make the truck SOUND better, so you might THINK it's making a lot more power, but at the end of the day, it's mostly snake oil and a waste of money. Additionally, the reason why "less restrictive" filters are less restrictive is because they don't filter as well and let larger particles into your engine.

Spend a few hundred more and get a tune. THAT will likely make a difference you can feel.
