fragile speaker grill

On an 8 degree morning I was changing my wife's tire on the side of the road....fun. But i jumped up into the back seat to grab some tools, because of traffic I could not safely get to the other side of the truck. In the process of jumping into the truck my knee hit the rear door panel, I heard a loud pop. Thats when I found out that I had punched a hole in the speaker grill, needless to say I was thrilled. After talking to my local parts dept. I was informed that the grill is not a separate piece and the entire door panel needs to be replaced to fix it.

 

On a positive note the panel is much cheaper than I expected, found at various places for about $200. As you can see in the picture the damage is not that bad but I have not even made it to my first oil change so I cant stand it not being perfect.

 

Has anyone replaced a door panel? I have removed door panels before but not sure if there is any unforeseen complications that may result from replacing one

Door panel isn't hard, I had to replace glass in my 2014 driver side rear door, and also replace the side view mirror on the front passenger door.

The only thing that was a pain for me was the exterior window trim; I actually had to mess with the trim on the rear door twice to figure it out because I reinstalled it wrong the first time. I could feel air pouring out from under the seam when I got out and left the truck running, so of course it bugged the crap out of me and I fixed it that day. Turns out I hadn't clipped them in all the way.

Anyway, just take your time and watch a few YouTube videos before you start and it should be a breeze.
