my truck had been pinging really bad for about 6 months and no power and no check engine light, filled up with every brand of 93 octane there was, still didn't help. so i bought the hypertech programmer 3 put the tuner on adjusted to power tune 93 oct  test drove pinging was now worse hmmm got to looking at gm's tsb found the one about the knock sensor went and bought all the parts to change them ,what a pain in the ass that was they put them under the intake down in a water holding hole! the rubber covers that are suppose to keep the water out was not even installed they where laying on top of the engine, replaced the rusty sensors and installed the caps and built a rtv water dam around both sensors, reinstalled the intake and other junk fired up ok , test drove now my pinging is gone and can tell some what the programmer does help some, peppy on take off gas mileage looks the same, transmission firmness works only one selection, the shifting point changes wide open throttle only so unless you are racing this feature sux. calibrated my speedo and moved the speed limiter to 128 mph and rev limiter to 6000 rpm. all and all i wont buy another hypertech to me its not worth the money!
