501Legion Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Hey Guys, Long time lurker, first time poster. So I'm getting a service air bag light on my 06 1500HD. Usually I would think it's a bumper sensor but I just recently ran some wire for a LED light bar through the firewall grommet. I'm thinking that I might have broken a wire or something when I was doing that. Does anyone know if there are airbag wires under by the BCM that I should look for? I checked the plugs under the driver seat and those seem secure and intact.
501Legion Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 Here is a picture of one of the wires I'm concerned about. But the plug is attached to the brake. Thinking that might be my trailer brake.
muddkatt Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 From the picture it looks like the green wire with the white stripe is broken loose from the terminal block. Looks like it should hook up on the pin nest to the green wire.
501Legion Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 I am trying to figure out what the plug is and what the wire is for. It doesnt look like a break or that it pulled out it looks cut.
txab Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Get it scanned with a proper scanner that can read air bag codes
501Legion Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 Quick update. Took the stealership $100 and 30 hours to just read the code. Said my airbag was deployed. Obviously it didn't deploy.. What's funny is they kept insisting I was in an accident.. Until they actually looked at the truck. So $650 for a new module from North Carolina. Fixed the problem. I've had enough with this truck. Looking at a '15 SS sedan.
