EGT Probe for 1500?

Anyone run an egt probe on their 5.3? I plan on pulling a TT and coming from a tuned diesel this has me concerned a little. Is it not as big a deal or just watch tranny temp and engine temp? Will be pulling around 7800 lbs and this has me wondering.

I don't think anyone has mentioned one on the site. As long as you are under the tow ratings for the truck you will be fine.

Zero EGT concerns with a direct injection gas motor, the ecm will pull power if it gets hot, I wouldn't even worry about coolant temps, my big concern would be trans temps and if you are pulling heavy you can plan on adding a large trans cooler as the stock unit won't cut it.

EGT on the diesel was to keep you from cooking the turbo. Not needed on these. Had it on my 01 Duramax.
