275/60r20 vs other best option?

I am really trying to decide what size tire to put on my truck. I have stock size right now (275/55r20). I want to know ALL of the ins and outs of having a larger diameter/heavier tire. I know having a larger tire changes the final drive gear ratio, but I want to know if there is any complaints/concerns/suggestions... anything. I am in no serious hurry but just would like a little more size to my tires.

She's my daily driver, but I often go to glamis, the local mountains, ocotillo wells so I she likes to be off road (even though its only 2wd) but being in Southern California I rarely would need it. Anyway, anything will help.

Thanks!!

Running a taller and heavier tire is going to have a negative impact on your acceleration, braking, and MPG. That being said, you can fit a 275/60/20 or 285/55/20 on your stock truck...and those sizes aren't drastically different than stock. The negative impacts of those two sizes won't be very noticeable.

This helps a lot. Thank you! I'd love if some more people gave some real world experiences with this also!

I do have the bilstein 5100s on all 4 corners. And the fronts are maxed out.

No problem. With your bilsteins, you'll be able to run those sizes easily. Could probably even go a bit larger. But, if you're worried about those negative things I mentioned previously...then stay conservative.

It's seeming more and more that 275/60r20 is the way to go Will the dealer adjust my speedo?

Where are you located? Dealer will not adjust.. my speedo is off exactly 2mph at 60. So when the speedo says 60, Im actually going 62mph.. not worth worrying about really.

Southern California I'm more worried about the tach. I want the mileage to be correct
