Tire pressure monitor sensor

Recommended Posts

I have one sensor on my 2011 Sierra that is reading about 4-5 psi lower than my tire gauge. I just did some research and found out that these sensors have a battery and are designed to last up to 10 years, but I assume it's possible for one to go bad. Is there an easy way to find out if a sensor is bad?

If you relearn your tire positions and its able to sense each tire i would think the batteries in the sensors would still be ok. My truck wont remember my tire positions ill relearn them it will complete but then my dash just says relearn tire positions GM has reset them 3 times and tells me thats all they can do, but judging by your issue and mine so there must more to it then just a sensor being faulty, probably has something to do with to communication error from the sensors to computer.

Your TPMS sensors should be replaced every 3 to 5 years.
