2006 Silverado strange engine noise

Hello ladies and gents,

I'm new to the forum. I've encountered a strange noise coming from my truck. It's a 2006 Silverado LT with a 5.3. She's got 97,XXX miles and I've had the truck for 8 months. Earlier this week I noticed a strange sound coming from what appeared to be the wheel well. It's a metallic knock/rattling. It's pulsating and non-erratic and it increases with RPM. However, it is most noticeable at idle and not really heard when I'm driving. I have no trouble lights coming on inside and all gauges are reading within their operating parameters. It's been difficult to identify exactly where the sound is coming from but most people who have heard the sound have thought it to be coming from either an exhaust component or from the oil pan (which I sure as hell hope is not the case). I haven't noticed anything else different in the truck or been able to find any other indicators besides the noise itself. I've been told it can be a loose or broken flywheel, broken exhaust manifold bolt, bad lifter, engine knock, or a bad oil pump but its really hard to tell where its coming from exactly and I haven't really had the time to investigate. Wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar. I uploaded the sounds so others can hear what I'm talking about.

I can't get the video to load but sounds like what my 05 is doing. I believe that mine is coming from the oil pan back by the transmission. I am still trying to diagnose the issue. I posted a thread on it last night.
