A gm kid Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Alrighty so i have a 95 rcsb 5 speed and g80. Its just a 305 for now but an lt1 should be in soon. So i took it down to my local drag strip did a couple runs (my first time ever at a track) first run i bogged got 17.6, second run i spun all through first got 17.3, 3rd times the charm. I hook with some slight wheel hop and get a 17.6 again. With the same 60 foot as when i bogged down. My question is sence i have a g80 and that only locks at 120 wheel rpm, would it be better to spin off the line and get the g80 to lock for the rest of the way down the track? Also what other options you guys have to solve the wheel hop. Maybe help to get some more weight transfer back there? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
barry G Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 try some caltrac looking items for the springs. many versions, even home made. here is one for flipped suspension. http://www.calvertracing.com/store/caltracs-3304flipped-apllications-p-192.html I run a 96, 305 and 5 speed.. always curious about times. 17 seconds must be throttle body or carb version...1 year later is in the 13s.

I believe '96 was the first year they went to sequential FI from TB FI. So he should have throttle body FI and you should have an injector for each cylinder that sprays above the intake valve of each cylinder. The truck I had before my current '14 was a '98 5.7 350 and I liked that it wasn't TB injection.
