Fuel Pump help!

Hey guys, my fuel pump went bad today. I'm looking at AC Delco ones to replace it with, but I'm not sure what the difference is between the MU1613 and the MU1614. I have the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with the vortec 6.0 V8. It's a 2 door, long bed, and 2 wheel drive. Any help would be appreciated, need to get this fixed fast.

I was confused on this as well when I had to replace the fuel pump on my 1500. I went to the local dealer, gave them my Vin number and had them tell me which one I needed. Then I went home and ordered it from Rock Auto.

Got it thanks. I called advance auto and told them my vin number. They said the 1613 is for California emissions and the 1614 is not. They said go with the 1614

Also, for the record, it helps to look around. Advance auto wanted $250 for it while I got EXACTLY the same thing brand new on eBay for $155

definitely shop around. My '04 Sierra Cab&Chassis has two tanks, both were bad [front one couldn't maintain fuel pressure for injectors, rear one was rusted to hell], local parts stores wanted around $500cdn each [didn't even bother with the dealer cost], rockauto wanted about $225+shipping(cdn), so half price, but amazon decided they didn't want to keep old stock so they sold me the rear one for $30US+shipping ($35 was the cost of fedex shipping from the manufacturer to amazon the year before according to the fedex label inside).

 

search both amazon and ebay for all the part numbers for the different pump manufacturers...

There are some things that OEM/AC Delco parts are worth the money, fuel pumps is one IMO.

Yeah for sure. It's something everyone takes for granted but it will leave you sit in a heart beat. I have a AC Delco MU1614 that should be here later this week

Exactly why I went with Acdelco in my truck. I figured if the orginal one can last that long then why buy anything else.
