Valved Exhaust

Has anyone done a valved exhaust set up yet with our trucks? I'm interested in one that has a muffler that would sound pretty quiet when closed but when opened would be essentially straight piped sounding but still come out the exhaust pipes. I know there's electric cutoffs that will when closed dump it right at the valve but i want the exhaust to still come out of the pipes like armytrix exhausts if anyone is familiar with them, has anyone done this or know someone who can do this?

Are you referring to electronic exhaust cutout?

Kind of but he wants the exhaust to still come out the tailpipe. Hes talking about the setup Camaros/Vettes have with the adaptive exhaust. Nothing like this exists for our trucks that I know of. You could use an electric cutout to make something similarish. Just us an electric cutout and then plumb it to a separate tip or back into the main stream. This would open it up and allow it to bypass the muffler.

I looked up armytrix for anyone else who had no idea what that was.

So I spent a minute in paint to show what I meant, excuse how crude this is but you get the idea. Any exhaust shop could plumb this up. Would essentially be like any dual catback but one tip bypasses the muffler completely.

It could easily be done, any good muffler shop could take care of that for you. A buddy of mine did the same thing to his truck to disguise the cam

Dual Mode exhaust - Now we are talking!

The option from the factory on Camaros and vettes is called - Dual Mode Exhaust or Adaptive Exhaust or Multi Mode Exhaust
