Inside door rust issue

So when you open your driver door, there is a piece of rubber on the trim of the truck body. I realized this rubber has torn in a spot and has let water sit in there and begin to rot out the body under the rubber. I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and or what to do about it? I guess I could rip the rubber out and see how bad it gets or is there a way to seal it as it is with minimal cosmetics?

So its just the weather stripping, and for those who havent realized theirs is rusted too once you look, i have links for you to save hundreds..

Peel up your stripping at the split point and take a look!
