Glass Pack for '06 8.1L ?

I have a quad cab '06 manual transmission Silverado that I'm looking to get a more commanding sound from. I'm not interested in waking up the entire neighborhood but just a nice deep V8 sound. Any thoughts?

If you don't want to wake up the neighborhood then glass packs are not going to work for you. I had them on my '06 and '01 with the 6.0 and they sounded beastly (or obnoxious depending on who you asked). The toll road is about half a mile from my house as the crow flies and dad could hear me getting on and off of it. When it was still his truck I could hear him turn into the neighborhood. I loved how they sounded but if you're looking for something that's not overly loud, glass packs are not it. Never lost a random noise "competition" in my '01 or '06 with the 6.0s and glass packs. Shuts those nasty ricers up pretty quick most times though as well as a few mustangs too :-D

I put 12" glass packs on mine and they're not very loud IMO; but all depends on who you ask. The cats quiet it down a lot. Has a very deep sound to it. Are you going to just replace the muffler with a glass pack or run true duals? Duals are usually louder than a 2 into 1.

I was looking at replacing my muffler with 2) 35", 3" inlet/outlet glass packs leaving the rest of the exhaust stock like it is. I figured with 2 glass packs that long it should still be pretty quiet.
