Dash on my 14 Sierra all terrain is peeling?

Im out of warranty on it... When i was dusting off my dash i notice a flaky white material. Wiped at it with a wet cloth and more and more keeps rubbing off.

 

The dealership pretty much says I'm out of luck. Plus i dont really want to pull my dash off.

are you over the 3 year/36k? I am guessing so since the dealer said eat it.

 

It looks like its the protective coating that comes on the leather is starting to wear off. I would start by giving it a good leather cleaning and conditioning. I like to use Chemical guys products. Just search youtube for chemical guys leather conditioner.

Ya im over the warranty. I tried conditioning it but it still looked bad. Ended up rubbing it all off the dash. Took like two hours. There are a few spots left that are flaking, but i got sick of scrubbing it.

 

Final straw for me. My next truck won't be a GM.

Looks like the matte clear protective coating is coming off. If it where mine i would just scrub the rest off and make sure to keep a good non silicone protectant on it.

 

It's not leather, its a soft touch synthetic material.

 

Your dash isn't ruined, just wipe it down with a quality interior spray every now and then.
