Disable Intelibeam?

I have the green icon on dash with the A inside the light always on? How do I turn it off when I don't need it constantly changing high to low?

I have the exact opposite question...How do I activate mine? I thought the manual said that they are active if the lights are on Auto. But I've never seen the intensity of my beams automatically change, and when I push the lever to manually turn the high beams on, they do. 2016 Denali, BTW.

I am with you savaytse66. Mine worked fine for the first few weeks. I have noticed now it doesn't. I have tried everything in the manual to reactivate it. And nothing. :nonod:

I got mine to activate and deactivate by pushing back on the lever to activate the high beams 2 times so on off on off within a few seconds and then I get the indicator on the dash to light up. But if you use the fog lights it disables the feature.

I've been able to activate intellibeam:

when running above the minimum speed (25mph) and it is dark enough to need high beams and no other vehicles present

- push to high beam and back to low beam quickly and it will activate

- pull the pass to flash quickly twice and it will activate

When active, tt can be deactivated by pulling cycling the hadlight lever to 'flash to pass' and releasing or to high beam position and back to low beam position

Finally fig’d out how to turn on the IntelliBeam system. Manual not so Intelli helpful. Found a blurb on a Cadillac site, one poster said he sat in a dark garage – and hit the flash-to-pass twice, then high beam once. So I sat parked in the dark and tried the 3-step method - That did it! The 2017 Silverado Owner’s Manual clearly says hit the high-beam twice – that does NOT do it!

To enable IntelliBeam system (with head-lamps in auto):

Hit the flash-to-pass twice, then high beam once.

The IntelliBeam indicator is located down in the lower part of the tach – to the right of the head-lamps on symbol. Even the symbol is different than the 2017 manual, the “A” is actually fully inside the symbol.

The IntelliBeam indicator is green in color. (And smaller than the blue high-beam indicator up in the H2O temp gage).

If you use flash-to-pass while driving, you do NOT lose the setting. (Manual again in error).

If you manually turn on the high-beams you lose the symbol, and would have to reset.

If you turn on the fog lights you lose the symbol, but when you turn the fog lights off it comes back.

If you turn off the truck – the setting remains when started again.

Yes they do drive nice - car like ride!

LOL - When you have a station up - press and hold the preset for about a second until you hear a beep...... Lovin' the XM radio!
