2007 Sierra collapsed lifter

Hi all, new here and hoping to get some input. Been doing some reading on issues I'm having and getting conflicting info on what the dealer is telling me.

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 5.3 z71 with just over 100k miles. Had the truck in to the dealer about 10 days ago for a broken valve spring cylinder 3. I received the truck back from the dealer and everything ran fine, however I was getting a low oil pressure light. The oil pressure reads substantially lower now than what it did before it was in to the shop. I immediately contacted dealer who said they noticed it but assumed it was like that already and it was electrical related. Stated that it was not and that I wanted it looked at. They were not able to get it in for a few days and told me it was just a sensor and should be ok to drive. After about three days the light went off and the oil pressure seemed to stabilize. Still on the low side but didn't drop like it did before. Intent was to get it to the shop this week as I have been out of town. While driving yesterday my oil pressure dropped to 0 and my check engine light started to flash. Pulled over and engine ran rough at idle. Got it to the dealer just down the road and had them check it out. I'm now being told that I have a collapsed lifter on cylinder 7. As far as the oil pressure they say it is a bad oils pressure sending unit and is unrelated. They are not willing to work with me at all and claim its nothing they could have done.

So...

Is it likely that these issues are related or is it true that bad luck comes in threes.

Was quoted 2200.00 to fix is that about right?
