Cold start

About a month ago, my crank position sensor quit on me and left me sit. After popping a new one in, it seems like it is taking a little longer to start up on a cold start. I mean it doesn't take long, but it used to be instant. Now it cranks for just a little bit before starting. On a cold start I always let the fuel pump prime, and I just replaced the battery about a month ago. Any ideas? I'm not saying anything is wrong, just wondering what may have caused this.

Is it a Delco branded sensor that you replaced it with? Also how old is the vehicle battery?

Ok. My thinking on this is that different branded crank sensors will have different parameters in which they measure, which will in turn result in a different reading being sent to the ECM and thus the longer (or sometimes shorter) crank cycle, depending upon the model of the sensor. Is it just a half a second longer or drastically longer cranking? If it's not too long I wouldn't be worried. The old 4.0L inline 6 that was famous in the Jeeps from the 80s and 90s would crank for almost 3 full seconds, sometimes longer. And then there was my 99 Silverado which would only need 1 second every time. Except for when the battery got low or worn out.

Ok thanks. And yes it's just a half a second longer than normal. I'm just real picky about my truck, so it's something I noticed. Thanks again!
