suburban alarm issue

This is my first post so bear with me. I have a 2000 suburban new body style. When i bought it used it did not come with the key fobs for the alarm. For the first few monthes I could lock the doors and unlock with the key with no problem. Now every time I unlock with the key the alarm goes off until i start the truck. What could cause this? Also I have a extra key fob from my 2000 silverado is there a way to program it to work with my suburban?

Also, you can pick up some new FOBs off of EBAY very cheap! just search 2000 Suburban FOB
