fuel filter

My 2001 4.8l is approaching 30K. I want to change the fuel filter, can anyone tell me where it is/ how to do it?

On the inside of the frame under the drivers side door.

Do you have to depressurize the system to remove the filter? Or just be resigned that you're going to get gas spills? Any tips and tricks to the process?
