neilbedwell Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Please look to the left of center in the picture. You can see the crimped on spade end of a red/black wire. Can anyone tell me what this wire is? I have never noticed it hanging there until late last night while I was checking my oil. It's hanging just below the brake reservoir. No check engine lights are on. Truck is a 2011 Silverado Crew Cab with 5.3L engine. Thanks everyone!!!
demech23 Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 It's part of your trailer wiring. When you are ready to use electronic trailer brakes there is that plus another connector that you route to the fuse box studs in the front, plus adding a fuse.
neilbedwell Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Thanks!! That's interesting. I was hoping it was for something like that and had not rattled loose. Does it matter that my truck has the built-in brake controller already? I assume not. Thanks again!
slj2008 Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 just like he said - 2 studs front of fuse box - 1. brake controller 2. 12v hot wire for your trailer battery . metric nuts for studs
