alanhornet Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I just installed some led headlights I see they have a fan on them so my question is would it be ok to put the backingredients cup back on the headlights or should I leave them off for air flow? Anyone have part number for fog lights led kit? Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Boardmember Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Heat kills LED (drivers). There's probably not a formal Rx answer but you're gonna have to extrapolate one with info you have. Heat is LEDs biggest enemy.
cbrsilv15 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Its a double edged sword. You can leave the dust cap off to give the led drivers the air flow to stay cool, but you'll risk letting moisture into the headlamp.
Silvern Sentry Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Put the cap back on, you are suppose to. Heat is not an LED biggest enemy, water is. Also you cannot (or should not anyway) put an LED(or HID) kit into the stock reflector housing. Just get a full LED unit replacement like this and not a kit. http://www.evansar.com/misc/new_fog2.jpg
