adding 2016 radio (projection) in and 2015

I was wondering if anyone has read anything on putting the 2016 IO5 radio in and 2015. I would like the projection function on my 2015. I know GM has started to put the 2015 IO5 radios in the 2016 because they have a constraint on 2016 radio. Any ideas?

There is a vendor on this forum that sells an upgrade kit. Its around $1100. The username is MVI Inc, and they guys name is Anthony Brush.
