So recently just bought a set of slightly used tires and rims 2k with gm tpms. I brought to dealership to get tpms programmed for new tires. This dealership could not find them and deflated one tire and said they could not find the tpms. Spoke with guy I bought tires from and he said gm dealer he brought to deflated and found them and was good to go. Any suggestions or should I just try another dealership? These techs did not seem very knowledgeable.

They would be very hard to miss, they are on the back side of the valve stems. I would say they are not there.

If they aren't there, they aren't there regardless of what the history is. The gent that sold you the tires said they were, so he misrepresented the condition of the wheels/tires. He should either pony up for the TPMS or give you a refund.

I mean the guy went out of his way to call me back and explain the process he went through to have the tpms read 3 days later after I bought them so I dont think hes lieing and I know where he lives. Im pretty good judge of character and this guy seems legit, could be wrong but doubt it. The dealer today said they wanted to break the bead to do it and would have to do that every time when I put them on.......no thanks. Is it a possibility that tires need to be deflated?
