Wheel Corrosion

Having corrosion of my stock polished wheels at the valve stems, will this be a warranty item?

I believe so as long as you're still within the 3 year 36k mile warranty.

All 4 of mine were replaced due to the same thing, no questions asked.

Can OP please post a pic. I thought polished wheels were 'polished aluminum' which does not rust.

 

Are we talking chrome cladded?

The post says "corrosion". Aluminum definitely corrodes. Our 1998 and 2002 aluminum GM wheels corroded terribly.

Same with the ones on my 2006. They did have over 230k miles on them though.

In the past they would replace one time for cosmetic problems. Not sure what the current policy is.

Yea if you are within your 3/36 they should be covered. We've replaced many a set up here in Western NY.

Just that "rust" normally is used to describe the oxidation or corrosion of iron/steel, not other metals. Just terminology.
