Can OP please post a pic. I thought polished wheels were 'polished aluminum' which does not rust.

Are we talking chrome cladded?

The post says "corrosion". Aluminum definitely corrodes. Our 1998 and 2002 aluminum GM wheels corroded terribly.

Same with the ones on my 2006. They did have over 230k miles on them though.

In the past they would replace one time for cosmetic problems. Not sure what the current policy is.

I will be happy to email the pics to someone if you would be so kind as to post them here for me? [email protected]

No need. Go into your profile and click edit profile and select gallery. It will let you upload pics.

Not a chemist and probably out of my field but what is the difference between Iron oxide (rust) and Aluminum Oxide (corrosion)?

Just that "rust" normally is used to describe the oxidation or corrosion of iron/steel, not other metals. Just terminology.
