OnStar Data Plan - Little Upset...

Hey guys. I purchased 10GB in July for a road trip out to CO. When I got back home, I called OnStar, a super nice lady picked up, I said I wanted to cancel since I only needed it for the road trip. She said "oh yea no problem, actually, if you want, you can just call back at the end of July and cancel it then so you don't lose out on your remaining data, and if you end up calling in August, we'll refund the money if it charges your account as long as you don't use the data." I said alright I'll do that, and that was the end of that.

So this morning I made sure my wifi was off on my phone and actually turned off my hotspot in the truck so that no data would be used. I looked at the OnStar app it said I used 1MB data, I was like whaaaaat?

I called OnStar today, got some robotic sounding guy who tried to sell me a lower data plan. After I denied that, he started explaining about the OnStar protection plans and tried to sell me those. Clearly the employees are not trained the same, or, some just try harder than others to make a sale!

But anyway, he said since I used 1MB of the data I am stuck paying $40 for the month of August. I was a little bit upset but he said you used the data you gotta pay.

What do you guys think about this? Should I attempt to fight this some more? I know at the end of the day, I apparently did use data, even tho just 1MB, I did use it (I don't know what I did to use it but that doesn't matter) . I shouldn't have let the super nice lady tell me to just call back in a couple weeks to cancel. :banghead:
