I have an '09 Silverado extended cab 4x4 with less than 40k miles. My left front tire wore down on the inside bad enough that it wouldn't pass inspection so I had new tires put on the back & put the one's from the back on front. At the time they still had app. 50% tread & were evenly wore. I had an alignment done & was told they adjusted toe (was out a little). Now, after less than 4k miles, the left front is starting to wear on the inside again, so I looked at the tie rod ends & could tell they had never been adjusted. Went back to same shop, they checked & showed me the toe was off on right side & o.k. on left. When I questioned why left tire was wearing, he said it was common on Chevy trucks for left tire to wear if right side toe was off! I have never heard this before & think I'm getting a line of bull, but was wondering if anybody has ever heard this? Would appreciate any comments. thanks

I'm not an ASE-certified alignment specialist. But I think that shop if feeding you a bunch of BS. Sounds like your left front is toed-out too much, if the tire at that position is consistently worn down on the inside. Are your tires the stock size and type, do you keep the factory recommended air pressure in them (measured when the tires are cold), and do you have the tires rotated every 6000-8000 miles (rear tires moved straight to the front, and fronts crossed over and mounted back on the rear) as recommended by GM/the tire manufacturer? 4WD models are notorious for chewing up tires if you don't rotate them regularly.

I would of thought a good shop would get it right the first try. Are they willing to correct free of charge?
