2016 GMC SIerra Android auto will not recognize Galaxy S7

OK so got a new 2016 GMC SIerra. WHen I bought from dealer had dealer upgrade Radio to GM Navi..... Can't get any of the USB plugs to recognize my Anroid phone .. Have downloaded App but still nothing. Blue tooth works fine, just nothing with Android Auto.... Anyone know what software update you should have to have option... Thanks for any help

My 2016 silverado wouldn't recognize my gs7 the first few times I tried either. So I went to the dealer, had someone come out to the truck with me and of course it worked the first time with them there and it's been fine ever since.

 

I know it sounds weird, but some cables are for charging only and won't do data. Try using the cable that came in your box with the phone if you haven't already.

 

Also, try plugging the cable into the truck first, then the phone... and vice versa.

Haven't tried cable, will try and see if that's it
