First picture, I was thinking maybe the trash can was a bit in the way of the fire alarm and sorta blocking the extinguisher...looks like a brand new flag to me. In a trash can.

Last fall I put together a flag detail and rescued another flag at the same place. It was wadded up on a table in the break room. None of the other prior service people that were helping me knew what to do except for a retired MSG. I straight up told my boss today that I should start looking for a "civil"ian job at the nearest military base.

The last 11 years of my life have been like this. One civilian scum used to ignore my requests off for medical treatment and physical therapy, and refused my requests off for vocational rehabilitation. Got me kicked out of vocational rehab and physical therapy. Cost me my education benefits that I was awarded for being injured on active duty. Physical therapy actually called me and word for word said "if you aren't going to go to your appointments, we're going to stop making them for you." Another civilian scum took a stool that I would use to alleviate some pressure on my back injury and chained it to a shelf so that I could look at it, but not use it. Civilian scum lawyer said they're just guilty of gross negligence, and they couldn't prove discrimination. If either of those mother ****ers ever so much as makes eye contact with me again, I'll grossly neglect to restrain myself.

That's pretty sad. Thing is, it really doesn't take any more effort to be a decent person. Pretty easy to treat others with respect, pretty easy to respect the flag of your country. Sounds like a bunch of asshats over there. Sucks you have to deal with that. I would have thought that even gross negligence comes with penalties of some sort.

Any such run ins that I have had with civilian scum at work since then have been immediately reported to the highest authority. And I don't mean the internal HR department. I've developed zero tolerance for civilian scum shenanigans. Like remodeling my work area around me, up to and including drywalling, insulating, jack hammering, using a tile saw, using a rotozip cutting holes in drywall, replacing a drop ceiling, etc, sometimes as close at 2 feet from me! Was I ever once so much as offered safety glasses or ear protection? Nope. Were a years' worth of contacts ruined in 3 months by construction shit in the air? Yep. Any of them civilian scumbags care? Nope. To hell with them. Crap like that is why people go Rambo. Better to be breaking rocks in Leavenworth than to be kept down by civilian scum.

They're fun to watch. Scurrying around like excited little insects, always in hurry chasing a dollar. They know nothing about discipline, honor, or loyalty. They sure get paranoid when someone who does reminds them that the size of their pocketbook means nothing in the ring, jungle, desert, etc...

My philosophy on civilian scum is like this: Remember, when you take steps to keep me down, down is the best place to cut your legs out from under you.
