Drum Brake Adjustment

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just put new brake shoes on the rear. I tightened them to where I could put the brake drum on and get a slight drag when turning the drum by hand. I get about 3 clicks on the e-brake when I press it moderately (and it holds the truck). Have I done this correctly and do we think I'm set up right?

you can also back up and stop 4-5 times and let the adjuster set them up

I just replaced my rear drums and shoes days ago, and my e-brake sets and operates exactly like how you have described.
