Adding Intergrated trailer brake controller option jl1

Hi I have a 2016 gmc sierra 1500 denali that didn't come with the option jl1 anyone have any luck on adding the oem intergrated trailer brake controller

When the trucks came out in 2014 there was not. Perhaps that changed. Your dealer's buyer should be fired.

I see the user GTPprix has done programming anyone use him for programming

Unless something changed, it was very cost prohibitive. Passed on a few trucks until I found the perfect one with the brake needed.

There are thorough threads discussing this in detail, BTW. I don't have a link, but I remember them. The Ford unit can be dropped in (less than 100.00) and then the dealer has to program it, but it's not a big deal.
