High Mileage

Yesterday a buddy of mine was riding in my truck and he noticed my truck had just over 155k on it. "d**n, thats a lot of miles for a 94." I said "hell yea, I can't wait for 200k." I thought about it, and how long are these motors (4.3L) supposed to last? How many people in the 150k+ club are on the forum here?

My dads has 250k on his. He had work done around 190k to 200k. Had a rebuild. The track was babied but lots of stop and go NJ rush hour traffic. They are great motors though.

155k for a 94 isnt bad. I have a 97 with 117k. The way these motors are built these days just take care of them and they will take you over 300k with no rebuild like my friends w/t 1500.

My uncle has a 94 c1500 with the 4.3 and he has over 200k and hasnt had any major motor or trans problems with the truck.

Ive got 109k on my 4.3 .

I have had no major problems with the engine .

I have had to have a water pump and an intake gasket on it but thats it as far as the engine is concerned.

I'm the winner so far, 278,000 miles on my '92 S-10 4x4 5-speed and the almighty 4.3L V6. Nothing done to motor or tranny yet. Rebuilt T-Case at 250,000 miles. Still running strong for 278,000 miles. Change oil every 2000 miles with only half quart low at oil change.

Looking forward to the 300,000 mile mark.

Don't know much about the 4.3's. We have a 91 K1500 with 320,000 miles and a 94 K3500 6.5 TD with 280,000 miles. And for s**ts and giggles we have a 2001 DMAX with I believe 180K on it.. The truck, little truck, with the most miles that we have would have to be our 85 F-250 6.9 pickup the odometer stopped working at 709,000 miles.. :fume: And that was was in 96 so it probably has well over a million miles on it...
