Chevy Replacing Transmissions

Ive been back and forth with dealer and GM Exec regarding my 16 1500 High Country transmission issues. They keep telling me "manufacturer's intent" basically meaning it is what it is so deal with it. $60k truck slams in and out of low gears and they tell me that is what GM "intended"...

Went to dealer first time, they said overflowed tranny fluid. Next time took it for a test drive with mechanic and he felt the issue. Said he didnt know enough about the new 8 speeds to give a proper diagnosis (at least he was honest) he applied the 6.2L engine transmission update and had me do the relearn... 3rd time I went to dealer to test drive a like model with 5 miles on it, drove like a champ, none of the issues my truck has, sales person I test drove with said he knows about how the 8 speeds "jerk", he also felt the issue with my truck. 4th time I dropped off my truck to the dealer and they had a GM Engineer come and take a look, got the truck back after about 3/4 of the day and "no corrections were made. Vehicle is to manufacturers intent" Calling GM Exec again on Tuesday either and tell them to either buy it back from me or fix my 3000 mile brand new $60k truck's transmission... Ive been nothing but patient and have had nothing but people telling me "thats how it is"

THATS NOT HOW IT WAS WHEN I TEST DROVE IT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT, I WOULD NOT OF BOUGHT A TRUCK WITH A SLAMMING GEARSHIFT

Ive done everything they told me to do, I am NOT satisfied that my truck clunks and slams in the lower gears. I come to a stop at a sign/light and the clunk is so loud people hear it outside and look at me... im embarrassed to be driving this thing, its a beautiful truck that drives like complete garbage...

Anyone I let drive the truck that I know is like "thats not right, whats up with that?" GM's reps: "Thats normal"

FIX MY TRUCK!

Sorry for aggravated post, im just so tired of it.

I am a die hard GMC guy, but they are generally junk now.

Look at all of the 2014-2015's showing up at auctions with less than 10k miles.

Sad times for a GM fan.

Sure there is a few that run/work great, but that i usually short lived. The 8 speeds have several design flaws that GM cannot figure out.

After months of issues with my 14 1400 Sierra I was done with it. GM told me to go pound sand in a nice way and said my truck was fine. And as many here can tell, these trucks ride crappy. I regretted trading in my 07 1500 with a quarter million miles (0 issues and nice ride quality) for the new 14 I paid 50k for. I tried having GM fix the damn transmission also and the ride quality was terrible. They are good looking trucks but I was tired of how it rode and the tranny! I ended up taking the loss and trading it in.

I traded it in for a 2500 HD 6.6L Denali. I can honestly say I'm happy now. This truck rides soooo much better its not even funny. Plus the size and torque are fantastic. I did lose a lot of money on the trade in and I can't express how disappointed in GM for never doing anything to help me. But overall I don't regret the switch. (My brother had a fully loaded 14 1500 like mine as well and traded it in also, his truck rode like crap too.)

You have anymore info on this?

Just received a letter from Chevy dated August 2016.

My VIN# is affected and they are replacing the transmission due to

parts exhibiting a crack condition.

Transmission clutch piston out of spec.

Took it to the dealer to indentify the exact replacement that is required.

Edit:

2016 1500 5.3 NHT LTZ

Vehicle would occasionally lurch shifting into first when coming to a stop.

Other random bad shifts.....

Any update on this letter, I'm experiencing issues with my transmission as well.

Ran my VIN and seen no reported recalls.

Was your '07 a classic or new body style? I can't imagine how anyone got 250k miles on an '07 NBS. I barely got 90k before the engine started burning massive amounts of oil and was facing a replacement.

It was a NBS. 07 1500 crew cab 4x4 LTZ. Mine might have burned a little more oil from the day I bought it but I didn't notice it much. Around the 140k mile mark I replaced a small gas sensor or something for cheap but that was it. Took 10 min for the dealer to do. Other then that all I did was change the oil. It ran perfectly. And you have no idea how hard I worked that truck. I loved. Probably my favorite vehicle next to my current Denali.

They just pick and choose who will get repaired under warrranty.

My neighbor had zero issues getting all of the problems with his truck rectified in less than 3 days. I have been dealing with numerous issues on all of my trucks with zero help from GM. I have documented the pattern of who gets help and who does not(in Montgomery,AL), it will be very interesting to see them deny my allegations. As we have procured VIN # and names, some with written statements as how they were treated(good and bad).

As a test, I had my neighbor take 1 of my trucks in with transmission complaints (I had taken it in 4 times to no avail) and now mysteriously they found numerous issues with transmission.

Wait till this goes public, a lot of people will be surprised at the video evidence. The SEARS fiasco years ago was nothing compared to this.
