For years I used to get a beep tone when I hold the call button on my 2017 Silverado. It was then I could direct Siri to “send a text” for example, or “call xxxxxx”. Not anymore. I don’t get that tone and it seems like Siri cannot be heard through my speakers. I can, however, pick up my phone, call someone manually and after that it acts normally. I can hear and be heard.

Why can’t I get that tone anymore and hear Siri in the vehicle?

Omg, omg ,omg, Thanks for the tip on the language rest for the voice command on my 2014 Impala. I have been trying to get it to work for a year , had recall done on the side sensors and it stopped working , called GM on three different times they told me to take it to my dealer, out of warranty so that didn't happen, one gave me the tech. number they told me it sounds like the radio module has an issue, so today 03/21/21 I went out and reset my pairing from phone to car again for the umpteen hundred time, still not working, so now I check all the fuse's all good still voice command not working, wife is reading me about a guy with the same issue and he reset the language on his truck , so did everything else I could thing of so why not ,    Yes it worked THANK you so very much.

The same happens to my 2014 Silverado. Recently purchased, so I'm trying to figure out the glitches, and little things that need attention. Going to try the language reset process and see if that work. ?? We will see.

The voice recognition on my 2019 Chevy Equinox stopped working some time ago.  The past few days I finally had the time to try and figure out why.  I tried the suggestions above multiple times, changing the language from English to Spanish and back to English as well as unpairing and re pairing my phone, shutting off the car and my phone, etc and nothing helped.  I researched the internet up and down.  Finally chatted with someone from Chevy.com and she referred me to their connection care team.  I called the number and the lady helping me said I had done everything she would have recommended short of making a trip to the dealership.  She did a little research and then told me that the voice recognition feature on my vehicle was no longer active sometime last year because the software was not updated.  I was flabbergasted!  Like I had the vehicle a little over a year and one of the main features I wanted I was no longer able to use.  I will say she was very helpful and I'm glad she told me that as it saved me a trip to the dealership as well as continuing to do research to try and figure it out.  What a sham!!!!  I was never told this was temporary when I brought the vehicle and maybe the dealer was even unaware.  To say that this infuriates me is putting it mildly!  My next step is to e-mail Chevrolet and let them know exactly how I feel about them, and I will certainly tell everyone I know that owns a Chevy vehicle or is contemplating buying one exactly how I feel about their product!  Buyers beware!!!!

I use the GMC SIERRA 3500 HD 2008 and I have problems connecting my cell phone to the car.  The manual tells me to press the voice control button for more than a second, but what happens to me is that it only activates the Mute, not the voice control, so that I can access the Bluetooth settings.  Can anyone help me?
