Exhaust cutoff?

Just got a 2014 Sierra and noticed the exhaust tip was cut off just above the rear axle. Why would you do that? Will I have any issues with it? Thanks

Maybe they had an anti roll bar installed.

Shouldn't be any issues since it's still ahead of the muffler (right?). Just an extra foot or so of pipe. Might get residue on the underside of the bed, or heat something under there.

It's called dumping the exhaust. A lot of guys like having no visible tip.

The previous owner likely did it for off-road. Some aftermarket exhaust kits are also off road styled and the tip sits under box to gain a bit of clearance.
