Exhaust smoking

91 gm 1500 White smoke coming from exhaust. Wondering where I should start to fix this. I just bought the truck so I have little history to go by.

Head gaskets or cracked cylinder heads, sounds like from here.

 

Can try a leak down test to see if you can pinpoint it - doesn't work ALL the time, but sometimes you can find them that way. Combustion test of the coolant is a better way, but that isn't 100% either. Got a few options to try there.

 

With white smoke coming out, it should be fairly easy to find out 100% what you've got going on I figure.
