How to get clean engine sludge from inside of engine? Severely clogged

I had a mechanic once who used to say, "fluid is fluid and you will never know what fluid I put and where I guarantee it" I understand what he means but dude was old school and having a zillion different fluids in his shop just was not going to happen.

I'd get a different "mechanic." In that case just run break fluid and you won't have to worry about sludge anywhere. Fluid is not just fluid. Yes most start out from crude oil but the additives and how far the Crude is refined makes the difference.
