Red tag + truck month rebates?

My dealer is telling me that the current $2000 rebates don't apply to their red tag vehicles? Basically, they'll take $2000 off the internet price of any of the rest of their vehicles, no questions asked. But of course, the one I'm looking at, is a red tag, and they say no additional rebates. Is this legit?

I guess I should add, I'm looking at a 2016 Sierra 2500.

they always have a restriction on their offers. I'm sure the model you are looking at would sell without the 2000 rebate, so they are not including it in the sale. You can either pay for it or choose another one. They win either way. It's quite a racket.

Sticker is $63,600. Internet price is $52,527. So right now about 18% off. I was just surprised when they flat out refused to consider the current rebates. I would think a rebate from GM is a rebate from GM. Maybe they wil reconsider once 17's start hitting the lots.

A lot of time those internet prices include all rebates so you can't stack it on top of the special pricing.

$11,000 off MSRP? My local dealer seems like they are doing you a favor to give $5,000 off.

Some of the trucks I looked at were in the 58's or 59's. A few were down into the 55's. This dealer was the only one within 2 hours of my home that was down to the 52's. They had two, so I was biding my time, but as soon as the first one sold, I grabbed the other. I'm happy with the deal.
