Rear block removal problem??

I tried to remove the rear blocks on my 2015 silverado. Jacked up one side and stuck a jackstand under the frame, removed the tire, took weight off rear suspension and removed ubolt nuts, jacked up the leaf a bit and removed the block. When it came to putting the little nipple of the leaf in the axle it wouldn't line up... maybe quarter inch off from the front to back. Would it be the fact that i was only doing one side at a time and the other wheel was on when i was doing this?

When I did mine the rear end didn't drop right back down onto the leaf fully, once I started tightening the U-bolts down there was a loud "pop" and it pulled together fully. Then I just continued tightening until it was to spec.

You really should get the entire rear of the vehicle off the ground and not just one side at a time. When I did my blocks I to had some pin alignment problem, but a tie down strap works wonders when trying to finesse the pin into the hole.
