1500HD vs 2500HD Lift Kit

So i have a 2WD 1500HD yes i know some might say its dumb to lift a 2wd but until they are the ones to buy the parts for my truck it does not matter to me, I mainly want the extra ground clearance due to the hilly terrain we have at our ranch. So on with the question im looking at a Rough Country 3 inch lift that consists of Upper Control Arms, Rear Lift Blocks, and Torsion keys, and the new longer shocks. Their website says that it works for the 2500 no HD. And from what I read the 1500HD and 2500LD are the same I just wanted an opinion if it would fit or not. Thanks in advanced.

I just went through this with my 2003 LD. Yes, a 1500HD and a 2500 LD are the same. We have the same front chassis as 2500HD but after the cab our 8" C channel frame goes down to 6" and we have a smaller leaf spring pack.

I ordered an eBay kit because I wanted Bilstein shocks not RC junk. It was something like eBay 172441615566. I measured my truck and came up with wanting 3F/1R. I also purchased the torsion bar tool kit $19.85 and worth every penny. As far as UCA I purchased new OEM 2500HD units as a whole front end kit all my stuff was original 120k miles. The only other aftermarket thing I did was billet reinforcement sleeves for the weak outer tie rods.

My only problem with the kit was that the u bolts they sent were 9" or so long vs the stock 10". So they obviously wouldnt work with the lift block. I lucked out and the local Autozone stocked 12" bolts but in 9/16" diameter. My drill press made quick work of drilling the brackets to accept them and no issues since - company reimbursed me the cost of the bolts. Also no instructions with the kit but if you need them you probably should pay to have it installed.

On 33 x 12.50, I cranked the keys until all 4 wheels sat at 41" on level ground. No alignment needed in my case. Some minor trimming of the bottom corner of the front bumper on both sides and a small sledge to the metal of the wheel well at the rear side (I saw tiny rub marks after a few full lock turns over big bumps).

Just got an email back from the seller - my kit should have had instructions and 12" u bolts of stock diameter. He strongly advises buying the tool but does not sell it and links to one that I don't like. I used the one that is a reproduction of the GM tool.

EBay 182311297626 is a good example. Shocking14u was the seller of the kit. I also just purchased a driveshaft spacer. I won't link it since 2wd for you is different than 4wd for me but they both run $20. I did not have any driveshaft vibrations from the kit but its cheap piece of mind to me.
