I just ordered the Philips CrystalVision Ultra's since I couldn't find the GE's in 9012 bulbs (HIR2). Wish the chevy and GMC had identical items when it comes to things like this.

How can you tell your stock headlights suck?

Last night I saw a 2015 Silverado CCSB High Country rolling on the interstate. We were pretty much twins. I was appalled by how dim the front of his truck seemed. He was behind me for a couple of miles and his headlines gets seemed grey. I could look into his projectors and se the outlines of the housing. I decided to try something.

Once I exited the highway and got onto the surface streets, I turned on my high beams. I then drove the thirty miles to home with them on. I did not get "flashed" by an oncoming car even once. My truck is lifted six inches and I am running 305/65/R18 (33.6) tires. We met at least a thousand cars and not one person was bothered enough by my lights to blip theirs at me.

Hopefully, tonight's mail will help remedy this travesty.

Im going back to the stock bulbs and have silverstar ultras coming but want to try out these bulbs mentioned as well.

Done. They are definitely significantly brighter. Much deeper, focused pattern. Absolutely worth SIXTY bucks for all four. With Black Friday around the corner they will probably be even cheaper.

I didn't take any pictures of the beam pattern, as it is kind of pointless without any thing to compare it with. "Before and afters" didn't show up that well. Tomorrow evening when I am cleaned up, I will take a few pictures out on the state road.

I will say:

Low Beam is brighter, you can actually see the focal point of the projectors on my garage door. They go out a lot further and the brightness carries all the way to the limits of the width. The stock bulbs were quite dim along the edges of the pattern.

High Beam much brighter, details on the roadside are lit up pretty clearly. The high beam carries much further down the road.

Everything appears "crisper". That may be due to the whiter color of the output. They are quite white... Very white, without any hint of blue tint. None of the "rice racer" weird color spectrum at all.

Now, these are not HID caliber lights. They are not miniature suns, blazing through space. They are a great $60 upgrade, that was simple to do. I am very pleased with my investment.

Chevrolet was not fooling around when they designed the housings for these bulbs and plugs. They fit and seal very well. It took me about two hours start to finish, but I did completely remove and clean my CAI housing, tube and dry filter. Plus, I'm the slow kid.

From where? I have GMC as well

So I'd need the 9012's. Help a brother out people. Be nice to save some $ and time than going to HID kit.

I am interested in this topic as well. Is it simple to swap the bulbs out of do I have to take apart half the front end to get to them? Are there any matching fogs you guys would recommend to go with these?

It's pretty easy. On side is tight, but really not bad.
