So yesterday I got home put my truck in park, got out to get the mail, came back and it was off. I assumed I accidentally turned it off and thought nothing of it..later that day, I left to go to class and the same thing happened. I repeated it several times and it happened every time. Truck is running perfectly, drives great, nothing wrong with it at all. I simply shift it into park and it dies. My only ideas are something with the ignition. Truck had the 4.8 with an automatic. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys

Was common for those older trucks to have something in the steering column bind up, usually the wire for the tow/haul button. But that being said, given the age of your truck, if you don't feel like dropping your steering column, I'd suggest taking it to a good independent repair facility that knows GM Trucks. No need to go to the stealership. It could be something in the cluster, or it could be something related to the fuel system, or.. see where I am going here? Could be a number of things. You'll need a good diagnostic done on it.
