2016 Fog Lights

Lately I've been wanting to install the 2016 fog lights on my 2016 Silverado Custom but don't know if the necessary connections are available. Can anyone give me some advice or knowledge on this topic

Lowest trim they were available as a factory option was LT1.

 

 

Does your headlight switch have the push in function to activate the fogs?

Get an LED light bar. The cost effectiveness of adding factory fogs is far from cost effective. Bumper, lights, wiring and switch however the underhood fuse block does not have the proper circuitry in it for fog lamps so adding factory puts you in an SOL position unless you power and ground it and use an aftermarket toggle switch.

 

I'm just shy of $1500 to install the factory lighting with factory connections that you can't use at the UBEC. Nor will GM issue a BCM reprogram to add them.

 

We've had customers ask about this before. They all hate my response after I tell them all of that.

^^^^Fog lights are used for on road driving. LED light bars are for off road driving.

 

If you drive on the road with a led bar blinding traffic, that's a dick move.

If you're going to spend money for fog lights get yourself some morimoto LED fogs

@redwngr I was afraid to hear that response. Reason is is because I am not able to push the button. However I have seen a lot of pages where owners upgrade non existing fogs to the factory fog lights.

My new Morimoto XB LED fog lights are much better than the factory fogs. That said, don't think that you'll be getting driving light performance out of them...

My next step is to upgrade the headlights to the Morimoto HID package.
