Hardwire a GPS/radar detector/other 12v

In my 2013 Silverado I bought a 12v female adapter off a guy on here that made them so they plugged into the RAP port. This gave me a way of having the GPS just shut off on it's own with the ignition and not having to cut/splice anything. It just plugged into the stock electrical block and provided a 12v female plug. I was able to tuck all of this up into the dash and use my regular power cord with the GPS. Anyone make anything like this for the 14+ models? I emailed the guy that made them when I bought my 14 but never heard back from him (the plug changed of course). I finally just gave up, I just bought a 16 and would like to get one for the newer pickups.

If you pull the fuse panel on the drivers side of the dash, there is a 12v switched port in there and a place for a ground. That is what I used to power my dash camera.

So I found an old post suggesting to simply use the trailer brake port and mine came with the pigtail so I can plug it in and use the wires off of it. I thought about cutting off the plug from the one I bought and splicing it to the trailer brake block. The one I bought has 3 wires, red, black and white. The trailer brake pigtail has 4 wires, not sure which ones to use.

You guys are going to spend $45 when there is a free option built into the drivers side fuse panel. I guess go for it, I wired my cameras via the way I suggested and they have worked just fine for a month now.

Not sure anyone said that. Think I paid $25 for the one for my 13 and it plugged into the RAP block and had a 12v female end on it so I could plug any accessory into it that was a 12v male connection. I'll probably just cut the connector off the end of that and adapt it to the trailer brake connector that came with my truck like the link I posted above

That sounds like a lot work, when this works just as simple.
