Jump/Center seat swap electrical

I have a 2010 k1500 W/T which had the cheap center seat without a lid or under seat storage. I swapped it today for the model with 3 cup holders and a lid etc. I have a 12v power outlet in the bottom and I can't find the wire that should connect to it from the vehicle wiring harness. Is this wire on all vehicles and just tucked up under the floor matting somewhere or do I need to run some new power?

I believe you will have to run some new power. But its not hard to find a 12v power line to tap into, just make sure its not a 12v constant.

When you say constant... do you mean use a switched source? I was going to tap into one of the accessory outlets on the dash but they are both constant as well? Is there a safe source under the passenger seat? I wary due to most of that being air bag/seat belt related.

Sorry, i got confused on what you wiring but you're wiring a outlet. You have two choices that you can do, you can do constant and not constant, perks of being non constant are that if you leave a charger or something plugged in, once the key is off you will not be drawing any more so youre battery wont die. Yes I used a constant power source for my center consoles install and thats what i would recommend. I personally would not try to tap into any 12v power lines leading under the seat because as you said, airbags. I dont know if i would even probe those wires with a test light for fear of a short and an air bag deployment. I would as you said tap into the accessory outlets on the dash. Thats how I did it in mine and its the perfect stable power source that you know will have power, its better than probing a bunch of random wires under your dash.
