I think I'm just looking more for a replacement bulb, something that is a bit brighter. Dont necessarily want to do anything other than replace the factory bulb "plug and play" style but it seems like every answer I've gotten just burns out alot quicker? I wonder why that is?

Here's a side-by-side comparison of the 2016 Tahoe with stock H11 low beam bulbs on the left and the 2013 Sierra with the modified H9 low beam bulbs in the stock reflectors. You be the judge.

And the bulb mod:

A source for comparison:

H11 bulbs are 55 watt.

H9 bulbs are 65 watt.

German-made bulbs are better quality.

According to Osram/Sylvania, bulb life span is equal.

I see the 2005 Silverado used 9006 bulbs and not the H11. So the H11 to H9 conversion will not work for the original poster. The H11's are used in the 2007 and new trucks. I see there are 9006 to H9 conversions out there, but have no idea how easy or reliable it will be. Amazon has this wire adapter for 9006 to h9, but I assume the ring, tabs, and gasket will need to be modified as well.

I switched to the H9 when the H11's burned out. It does take a few minutes to trim some tabs on the H9's but is is worth the 5-10 minutes. H9's are 55W and H9's are 65 watts. Not a huge difference but noticeable.
