2015 GMC Sierra Frame Replacement

If the frame is bent........fix it.....dump it! Have the repairs done by a GM dealer and once in the shop walk into the sales showrooms and buy a new one getting full trade for your vehicle in excellent condition minus repair estimate.....after all it is their shop and will restore it to excellent condition.

 

Been there done that, advantages to owning the vehicle outright, had the insurance check within 48 hours and driving a new one the next day. Dealer was happy to do it, he made money both on the repairs and sale of the wreck and the new one sold, and I made out with a new vehicle instead of chugging around in a subcompact loaner and no hassle when the inevitable problems following a Humpty Dumpty repair.

I just got in a accident in Texas and plan on asking for a diminished value claim. What are chances of it getting accepted? It was 100% the other drivers fault with police report to back it up. It just happened this Saturday waiting on Monday to meet/speak to adjuster. Todays Sunday

My local GM dealership has replaced the frames on BRAND NEW UNSOLD TRUCKS, so nothing about that even surprises me.

Why would a new trucks frame need to be replaced ?

Tell them after the repairs are done you are going to take it to their biggest competitor and pay for a prepurchase body work inspection and you aren't paying till it passes

Me and my '14 were in an accident Feb 2016 when it had 27k miles on it and the insurance company chose to do a full frame replacement. I have 52k on it now a little over a year later and have had ZERO issues, none. Heck I think it's better than it was before. All depends on the shop doing the work. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but too many just assume "it won't be right again". A new frame is better than a repaired frame (insurance companies love to try for frame repairs).

 

Also, the insurance company is in the drivers seat, not you. They make the decisions. You really have zero impact on their final determination. They spent $27,000 to fix mine and it wasn't brand new.

Hey Rhinomike, I just purchased a GMC Sierra 2500 that looks like the truck in your post with the same wrecked areas. Did you sell your truck?
