1 year maintenace due

It’s time for my 1 year maintenance. This weekend I'll:

1. Change Fuel Filter

2. Grease front end (should be doing every 5K oil change)

3. Check differential oil level (rear changed at 1000 miles)

4. Lubricate door gaskets (any suggestions on what to use here)

5. Wax (any suggestions on what to use here)

Have I forgotten anything?

1. Change Fuel Filter

I typically do this at the 30,000 mile mark, not on a yearly basis.

2. Grease front end (should be doing every 5K oil change)

This gets done with every oil change. There are a total of 11 zirks.

3. Check differential oil level (rear changed at 1000 miles)

Again, I changed this fluid, along with the front diff, transmission, and transfer case fluid at 30,000 miles. I went with the GM's suggested fluids here.

4. Lubricate door gaskets (any suggestions on what to use here)

I do this whenever they start making noise. GM recommends a tube of dielectric grease that you can only buy through them, and it costs almost $15 for a tiny tube of it. Go to Wal-Mart, and buy STP Silicone spray. It looks like a WD-40 can, but the grease is odorless and doesn't leave a greasy mess. It also won't drip. Be sure that on the top strip, (the one that runs along the side of the windsheild and across the edge of the roof) that you make sure to lubricate both sides. I actually pulled mine off, soaked both sides in the silicone spray, then put them back on. Be sure to wipe them off first to get any dirt off of them.

5. Wax (any suggestions on what to use here)

Different people suggest different brands here. I typically do mine every 2-3 months, and I prefer to use Meguiar's Gold Class. It's a little pricy, but it is good stuff.
